Latest News from the Writing for Film & Television Program: By Adam Till

Toronto Film School Writing for Film & Television alumni are making waves in the industry, as evidenced by this impressive round up of recent accomplishments.

2015 Grad Andrew DiPardo has broken into the feature world, after a series of successful shorts. DiPardo has penned the script The Blue Ridge Massacre for Kanea Art Studios, to be directed by Dalton Stout (Them, Listen To The Screams). The film is currently in pre-production, set to shoot this summer.

2016 Grad Mika Rekai’s adventure with her feature A College Girl’s Guide To Pornography continues. Mika is currently in LA with Producer/Writing for Film & Television Instructor Jordan Walker, pitching and taking meetings as part of the Telefilm Canada Feature Comedy Exchange (sponsored by Telefilm Canada and Just For Laughs). As the film continues to gain traction with a target to shoot later this year, the team has now attached Jeremey Lalonde (Sex After Kids, Bastards) to direct.

2013 Grad Ralph Ortega has recently moved from his executive position at Guru Studios to Viceland, where he’s working with the Post-Production Team. Ralph is also developing a documentary series entitled Diaspora, which examines how diasporas all over North America have shaped Canada and the US as we know them today.

Ralph’s classmate, 2013 Grad Vince Masson, continues his success on the contest circuit. After winning the Wildsound First Scene Competition with his script Kabul, Vince is now an official selection of the LA-based Film & Script Showcase (Military Category) with his film Colby Buzzell Fights The War. Vince is also finishing up a successful internship with Chessler Perlmutter Productions, where he’s worked in development as a script reader.

2014 Writing for Film & Television Valedictorian Alex Stacey continues to work as Development Coordinator at Raven Banner Entertainment and has also started his own production company, Bringobox Animation. Bringobox is off to a great start with one of its first projects, O’Neil’s Ketchup Catastrophe, featured on TSN Overdrive.

Adam Till is the Coordinator of the Writing For Film & Television Diploma at Toronto Film School as well as a producer and writer, known for Billable Hours (2006), Perfect Sisters (2014) and Too Late to Say Goodbye (2009).
