Toronto Film School, in partnership with BMO, is proud to support the diversity of Canada’s creative industry workforce through this enhanced award, which helps alleviate financial barriers for Black, Indigenous, and People of Colour (BIPOC) creatives. Beginning with the 2026 cycle, four students—currently enrolled full time in any on-campus program—will each receive tuition credits valued at $2000, awarded quarterly, made possible by BMO’s generous commitment. An application essay, two faculty references and a minimum GPA of 3.5 are required to apply.

Designed for Toronto Film School video game programs students who are in their first term, this award is dedicated to the memory of Kurt Huhn, a 2019 Video Game Design & Development program graduate. Kurt was a leader to his classmates and a source of inspiration for anyone who had the pleasure to know him. This award honours attributes that we admired in Kurt and seek to recognize in his fellow students. This unique award will not be judged on academic merit. Rather, the award will be given to a current full-time gaming student who demonstrates passion, potential and creativity in their studies. Every quarter, one recipient will be selected to receive $2500 in tuition credits. An essay and a minimum GPA of 2.7 are required to apply.

New and current Indigenous students will see their qualifying tuitions discounted by 25%. This bursary applies to Canadian citizens and permanent residents with Indigenous ancestry.

International students showing proof of US or Mexican citizenship will only be required to pay the domestic tuition rate and not the international tuition fee. We recommend you schedule a call with an admissions advisor to learn more.

In honour of our Canadian Armed Forces, active or recently retired members will see their application fee waived, and a tuition deduction of 25% off their program of choice.

The LDC International Bursary was developed to encourage education for students from the Least Developed Countries, as defined by the United Nations. Students from these communities are eligible for a $10,000 bursary towards tuition fees. The list of countries is available in the link below:

To apply for a loan or grant, you must do so through your province or territory of residence. Loans are typically interest free during the study period, and payments start only after you’ve finished school. Grants are not repaid, and are typically given to students who come from low or middle-income families, have disabilities, dependents or are studying part time.

If you are an Ontario resident, you can apply to OSAP for a student loan. This financial assistance can also help you cover basic living expenses, supplies, tuition, and books.

Students whose parents have saved for their child’s education through Canada’s RESP plan are eligible to use those funds here at Toronto Film School.

Canada’s LLP plan allows students to withdraw up to $10,000 in a calendar year from their RRSP to finance full-time schooling for themselves or their spouse (or common-law partner). Restrictions do apply.

If you’re looking to enrol in Toronto Film School, and have recently lost your job and are (or recently were) on employment insurance, you may be eligible for assistance.

Students are entitled to a full refund of their application fee upon cancellation, provided they submit a written notice to their Admissions Advisor within two days of paying their application fee.

In any of the following circumstances, students have a choice of cancelling a contract and making a written request for a full refund of fees paid for a program, or accepting the shortcoming and continuing the training with Toronto Film School: A student is expelled from Toronto Film School in a manner or for reasons that are not permitted under the College’s expulsion policy. A total of 10% of the program is taught by unqualified instructors. The contract does not include all the mandatory items required under the Ontario Career Colleges Act, 2005. Toronto Film School discontinues the program before students can complete the program. Toronto Film School collects more than 20% of the total fees for the program (to a maximum of $500) before signing a contract with a student. In addition, you may also seek a full refund if Toronto Film School or its representatives make certain types of untrue statements for the purposes of influencing you to enrol in the program, and the statements constitute a fundamental breach of the contract, such as: a false or misleading statement; a statement that guarantees admission or successful completion of the program; employment after graduation; or the right to enter Canada or receive a Student Visa. If you are charged a compulsory fee that is not published on the Service Ontario website, or that is higher than published, students are entitled to a full refund of the unpublished fees or the difference in amount between what is published and what is collected.

Students are entitled to a refund of fees paid for a program. However, Toronto Film School may retain 20% of the total program fees or $500 (whichever is less) if: a student withdraws before the program begins; the student does not meet admission requirements prior to the start date; or the contract is cancelled within 45 days of the program start because the student did not attend the first 14 days of classes.

All Toronto Film School programs are 12 months in duration or longer. Programming is broken up into 12-month periods for the purposes of calculating a refund. After the initial 12-month period of a program has passed, the calculation is based on the remaining length of the program. For the current 12-month period in which students are in attendance, they are entitled to a refund of fees paid for that period, except that Toronto Film School is allowed to retain 20% of the total fees for the program or $500 (whichever is less), plus the fees earned by the College for the part of the program that has been delivered. In addition, students are entitled to a full refund of fees paid for any subsequent periods that have not begun at the time of withdrawal. If a student withdraws mid-week, and more than half of the classes in that week have been delivered by Toronto Film School, the entire week is deemed to be delivered. Toronto Film School is required to provide students with the result of at least one evaluation before half a 12-month period has passed. Toronto Film School is not obligated to issue students any refund of fees paid for a 12-month period of a program if students withdraw after half of that period has passed. However, students are still entitled to a full refund of fees paid for any subsequent periods that have not begun at the time of withdrawal. Refund = fees paid for the current 12-month period – (total cost of program × 20% to a maximum of $500) – fees earned by Toronto Film School for part of program that has been delivered in current 12-month period + fees paid for any subsequent periods.
