Become a Fashion Designer

For more than 30 years, the Toronto Film School has been producing national and international industry leaders. Our students have won prestigious design awards and competitions including Six Creative Festival Awards, Telio, Canada Goose/Sporting Life “Design Your Goose, Addition Elle’s “Little Black Dress” and TOM* Emerging Designer Competition.

We provide a unique opportunity for cross program collaboration and networking across the fashion and entertainment industries. You’ll work with peers in film production, acting and video game design to create costumes and style looks for film, theatre, television and video games.

Our program focuses on hands-on learning through studio time and industry-oriented projects. You’ll also experience the industry from behind-the-scenes and backstage with visits to fashion showrooms, textile retailers and design studios. And your work will be critiqued by a panel of industry experts and featured in a professional fashion show.

In small classes, you’ll be mentored by current designers with their pulse on the latest fashion and industry trends. You’ll also share their invaluable insider access to industry connections, networks and events.

With our fast-paced, year-round curriculum, you’ll develop the industry skills and real-world expertise to launch your fashion career in just 18 months.

Toronto is recognized as Canada’s fashion capital, with world-class events such as North America’s second largest Fashion Week and the first mens Fashion Week, TOM. At our Yonge and Davisville campus, you’ll study in midtown’s fashion cluster of designer boutiques and trendy shops.
