Toronto Film School Welcomes Jason Priestley to This Week’s ‘In Conversation’ Speaker Series

That’s right, Toronto Film School is gearing up for a very special guest this week – Beverly Hills 90210 star Jason Priestley.

 

Priestley joins a growing list of award-winning filmmakers, writers, actors and comedians who have joined Toronto Film School over the past few weeks as we’ve launched our new In Conversation speaker series.

 

Previous guests have included Academy Award-nominated filmmaker Atom Egoyan, 30-year veteran stand-up comedian Caroline Rhea, and Oscar- and Golden Globe-nominated writer and actor Nia Vardalos.

 

 

Priestley, who starred as the virtuous Brandon Walsh on Beverly Hills 90210 from 1990-2000, will participate in our next live In Conversation session via Zoom on Friday, April 24.

 

Hosted by Toronto Film School’s Executive Producer in Residence Andrew Barnsley and Writing for Film & TV Program Director Adam Till, the 90-minute, interview-style discussion with Priestley will include lots of moderated Q&A opportunities for students to ask questions.

 

The session will take place as follows:

 

  • In Conversation with Jason Priestley – Friday, April 24 at 1 p.m.

About Jason Priestley

 

Best known for his role on the iconic ’90s series Beverly Hills 90210, Jason Priestley is an award-winning actor, director and producer whose credits include hit TV shows and critically acclaimed films, alike.

 

Currently starring on the international hit series Private Eyes, Priestley’s other recent credits include the BH90210 reboot and features Away from Everywhere and Zoom. He garnered multiple awards for his starring role on Call Me Fitz, including Best Comedy Actor at the Canadian Screen Awards and Best TV Performance at the Canadian Comedy Awards.

 

Priestley’s notable directing credits include the Barenaked in America documentary, Dark MatterVan HelsingRookie BlueSaving Hopeand Haven. His first independent film, Cas & Dylan, received critical acclaim, including the Best Canadian Film Award at TIFF’s Film Circuit People’s Choice Awards and the Audience Award at the Whistler Film Festival.

 

A Vancouver native, Priestley was inducted into Canada’s Walk of Fame in 2016.
