Sabrina has over two decades of combined design experience in Residential and Hospitality Interior Design and Costume Design for Theatre and has worked professionally in Toronto, Vancouver and Whistler. She is a past professional member of the Interior Designers of Canada and was a Board member of IDIBC. Sabrina has an extensive design education, with a Bachelor of Interior Design from Kwantlen Polytechnic University, a Master of Fine Arts (Design for Theatre) from University of British Columbia and Bachelor of Applied Arts (Fashion Design) Ryerson University.
As Program Coordinator, Interior Decorating at the Toronto Film School, Sabrina’s main focus is maintaining a connection with Design Industry developments by bringing guest speakers into the classroom and taking the students to industry field visits. “Our industry is constantly evolving, with new technologies and more sustainable materials and construction. It is important to keep the dialogue between today’s leaders and future design professionals open. We maintain our focus is a real world education”.
Sancho has a Bachelor’s degree in Architectural Science from Ryerson University. His specialty is computer aided drafting and rendering. Sancho taught CAD at government sponsored training centers and opened “the architect’s supply store” where he taught CAD and 3dstudio to university students and professionals alike. Sancho currently instructs AutoCAD and Revit at universities and colleges across Ontario.
Barbara has a Masters in Art History from the University of Toronto, where she currently teaches at the School of Continuing Studies. Her writing has been published in Canadian Art, Border Crossings, FiberArts, Metalsmith, Studio, and Raw Vision. She has a special interest in photography and fine craft, and won the Ontario Craft Council’s Critical Craft Writing Award. She can be seen interviewing contemporary artists on the program ArtSync TV, aired weekly on Rogers Channel 10.
Brent received his Masters of Architecture degree from Clemson University in Clemson, South Carolina, USA. He travelled extensively throughout south-east Asia, eventually settling in Kobe, Japan and working as a designer for two different architectural firms on institutional, commercial and residential projects. When he returned to Canada, he became Chief Graphic Designer at Parkin Architects Ltd, specializing in 3d modeling, graphics and renderings. Most recently, Brent established a multi-disciplined business ranging from 3D graphics to design and build services.
Alec has a Masters of Arts from McMaster University, where he also worked as a Teaching Assistant. He spent five years in the PhD program at York University, taking a one-year leave to create and teach two courses in Canadian Culture and Literature at Johannes Gutenberg University, in Mainz, Germany. He is currently researching for his dissertation. Alec has also spent most of his life as a visual artist, and has participated in numerous shows in Toronto.
Graduating with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from The University of Guelph, Jeff has been an instructor of Illustration and Visual Merchandising at Sheridan College, Oakville from 2002 to 2008.
He has developed an extensive professional portfolio in retail sales, special event design, and visual merchandising .
With over 40 years of experience in Men’s retail , with the last 33 years at The Coop, Toronto, where Jeff has held the positions of : Manager; Buyer; Visual Merchandiser and Sales Associate.
Concurrently, for 20 years ,Jeff has held the position of Art Director and Designer at Décor and More , Canada’s most awarded event design firm.
In 2001 Jeff started Jeff Cairns’ Ink , a design and consultation company, and maintains a portfolio of Interior Decorating , Landscape design , Illustration and Wardrobe consultation.
Samantha is a full time Interior Designer at figure3 in the workplace studio. She has received her Diploma of Interior Design at Humber College, and most recently completed the Bachelor of Interior Design Program at the RCC Institute of Technology.She has been a thesis mentor for students at Humber College, as well as volunteered at a variety of student and industry events. Adept at working hand-in-hand with clients to determine their needs, Samantha is passionate about designing lively and functional spaces for people to enjoy.
Randy Christensen is an award-winning interior designer and the principal of Randy Christensen Design located in Toronto, Canada. Randy Christensen Design provides interior design solutions for the built environment, including: condominium complexes, private residences, offices, retail and institutional spaces.
Randy Christensen is certified by The National Council for Interior Design Qualification (NCIDQ), located in Washington, DC, USA. Randy Christensen has held professional membership with the Interior Designers of Canada, and the American Society of Interior Designers. In 2007, Randy received the ARIDO President’s Citation in recognition of 25 years of distinguished service to the betterment of the interior design profession.
Randy was honored to receive an ARIDO – Toronto Life Magazine Design Award for a residential interior. In 2004, Randy received an Award of Excellence for Teaching from George Brown College. Randy continues to mentor interior design students and teaches: Drafting 1 & 2, Sustainable Materials, Mechanical, Electrical & Hydraulic Systems, Bath Design, Lighting Design, Drawing Documentations for Construction, Home Staging and History of Furniture.
Since acquiring his Bachelor of Architectural Science degree from Toronto’s Ryerson University, Jeffrey has played pivotal roles in the design and construction of a diverse spectrum of projects that include retail, entertainment, institutional and luxury hospitality. His most recent tenure with Cineplex Entertainment saw him lead the design and construction of state-of-the-art cinema facilities including Toronto’s Don Mills VIP Cinemas and Landsdowne Park Cineplex & VIP Cinemas in Ottawa. With over 15 years of experience in the design industry, he has held critical design positions with leading global design firms such HOK and iconic national retailer, The Hudson Bay. Jeffrey applies a context and multidisciplinary based approach to design; integrating synergies between interior and exterior architecture, fashion, film and emerging technologies.
